Published: Thursday, March 27, 1947 Hurstville Council will open a clinic, for the immunisation of children against diphtheria, in the Masonic Hall, Hurstville, on Thursday. April 17, at 2 p.m. Since 1936, over 6900 have been successfully immunised in Hurstville Municipality. Application forms are available at the Council Chambers.
At the last meeting of Sutherland Shire Council a letter was received from Caringbah Chamber of Commerce asking that a boundary be laid out for residents of George's River bridge area for free passage across the bridge. The Shire Clerk, Mr. D. R. Kirkby pointed out that the George's River Bridge was not constructed for the benefit of the Shire of Sutherland only, but for all users, Irrespective of place of abode. Many years ago," he said, "council endeavored to obtain concessions for residents of the shire, but without avail."
Only one case of notifiable infectious disease occurred in Hurstville Municipality during the past fortnight - scarlet fever in Hurstville Ward. |
